Why Get a Puppy from a Show Breeder?

We show our wire fox terriers often. Nearly every week, one or more of our dogs are competing at AKC dog shows somewhere in the United States. We are proud of our wires and are eager to have them judged and evaluated by AKC judges. Some breeders, on the other hand, do not want you to see their breeding stock, nor will they let you see their facilities. There is a reason for that.

The publication of the AKC, the AKC Gazette, stated "good breeders almost always show. They have good dogs and are willing to compete and show them to the world. Generally, when breeders do not show, there is a reason. They don't want their dogs seen by knowledgeable people."

We occasionally breed a litter in the quest for a new show prospect. At that time, we may have puppies available to qualified show homes or responsible pet homes, depending upon their individual quality.

Although we do not raise wire puppies just to have puppies for sale, we do, on occasion, have puppies that may be sold to good qualified pet homes.

Before inquiring about our puppies, please take a minute to read over these questions so that we may get to know you. After that, if you feel that a wire puppy is the family pet for you, please e-mail us so we may be able to discuss the possibilities further.

First of all, our WFT puppies that go to homes as family pets are sold on a limited registration with AKC and are to be SPAYED/NEUTERED.

Prospective puppy owners, please answer these questions:

  • 1. Where do you live?
  • 2. Have you ever had a wire terrier or terrier before?
  • 3. What makes you think you want a terrier?
  • 4. Do you have a securely fenced yard because terriers are escape artists?
  • 5. Do you have other pets? What kinds? What sexes?
  • 6. Do you have children? What ages?
  • 7. Will the puppy be an inside dog or an outside dog?
  • 8. How long will the WFT be left alone while members of the family are at work/school??

Please take a few minutes, think the questions over and e-mail your responses to us so we may discuss this further.

We appreciate your interest and hope we can be of help to you. If we cannot help you, we hope to be able to refer you to someone in your area who is reputable who can help.
